What we do at Pack 11
Pack Meetings
Pack meetings are held once a month at the Saints John and Paul from 5:45 - 6:30. We have special guests such as the Central Coventry Fire Department and other fun activities like our annual Halloween Party.
Den Meetings
Den meetings are held three times a month at Sts. John and Paul from 5:45 - 6:30. Sometimes off-site, always check the Den calendar. Scouts meet with the Den for hands-on learning as they work together to earn their next rank.
Pinewood Derby
Scouts design and build their car to race in one of the biggest events of the year. Winners go on to race in the regional finals and we also have fun awards like ‘coolest looking car’!
Camping
We go camping once in the fall and once in the spring. Older scouts have additional opportunities to camp as well. We generally stay in cabins with the option for tents.
Hiking
Part of the scout oath is to be physically strong. We go hiking as weather permits locally and in the nearby area at places such as Purgatory Chasm.
Fishing
Scouts can fish on most camping trips and in the summer we have fishing events.
Scouting for Food
For over 30 consecutive years, Scouts have come together to help food banks feed the hungry in our communities. Our pack participates in the annual program with food going directly to the Coventry Community Food Services.
Community Service
Doing service projects together is one way that Cub Scouts keep their promise “to help other people.” We help our local community with events like Camp Westwood YMCA spring clean-up, caroling at the Alpine Retirement Home, and placing flag…
Fundraising
Our pack operates fully from registration fees and fundraisers. Scouts have an opportunity to earn money in their personal Scout Account which they can save and use for upcoming events or camping trips.
Day and Overnight Trips
Throughout the year we plan a variety of field trips, including biking, fishing, shooting-sports, and overnight trips including Battleship Cove, EcoTarium, Old Sturbridge Village and more!
Movie Nights
As a way to beat the heat, in the summer we host movie nights for the scouts to relax, have some ice cream, get some snacks and enjoy a movie together.
Cub Scout Graduation
In the spring, we celebrate the cub scouts earning their new rank and graduating to the next level with an ourdoor BBQ with music, games, and award ceremonies.
