Scouting for Food--Door Hanger Day

Scouting For Food is our most important annual service event. Scouts across the country work together to collect food for those who need it most. It starts with Door Hanger Day. All participating scouts will be given a short "route" (usually one street with about 30 homes on it) to work. Dan Robinson will be passing out envelopes with a pictured map of a route along with the number of door hangers you will need for the houses. These will be available on Thursday, October 20th.

On the morning of October 29th, families will head to their assigned route and place door hangers on the doors of each house on their route. **Please do NOT place them in/on the mailbox--mail carriers will remove them**

This can typically be done in about 30-45 minutes. We suggest that you have kids wear scout uniforms, as people generally recognize this event. We try to do this in the morning, but you can adjust this depending on your schedule, so long as its done at some point on the 29th/30th.

On the following Saturday, Nov. 5th, you will return to your route to collect the bags of donated food left on the doorsteps. Collection point and time TBD soon!

This event is strongly encouraged: If you can only do one weekend, please pair up with a family in your den who would be willing to 'work' your opposite weekend. If you place door hangers, but are suddenly unable to collect the food on the following weekend--please let your den leader know. We do not want to leave donated food left uncollected.

Questions or concerns, please call/text/email your den leader or Sam Robinson!
